Out-of-the-Box
Although it might sound pretentious I truly believe that Out-of-the-Box thinking is something that comes naturally to me. You find below a number of very obvious cases, but many of the other cases on this site might just as well have been listed here, just a few examples:
- After I had turned around a 33 year old trading company, had provided it with a state-of-the-art ERP system, exhaustive reserves and sufficient financing, I still decided that, for it to become a major player again, I had to enter into a joint-venture even if that meant obsoleting myself
- My Logistics adventures in Mauritania - where I tempted an Ambassador with a good meal - and China – where I enticed the customs department to re-interpreted their rules – certainly qualify
- Writing my own ERP system in Excel
